Marissa Kast
Marissa Kast FNP-BC graduated from New River Community College with her associate’s degree in nursing in 2020. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Western Governor’s University in 2021. As an RN, Marissa worked at the progressive care unit at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, as a circulator in the operating room at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery, and as Dr. Catterson’s RN at Carilion Orthopedics. She began her master’s degree in nursing at Western Governors University in 2023 and graduated with a family nurse practitioner degree in June of 2025. Prior to graduation, Marissa was precepted by Medical Associate’s Dr. Maggie Belton and Anthony Ramsey FNP-C. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Marissa is originally from Pearisburg, Virginia but now resides in Radford. She has two spoiled tuxedo cats named Phoebe and Jellybean. Marissa kickboxes/boxes recreationally and enjoys reading thriller novels, listening to true crime podcasts, and baking.
Marissa’s passions at work include women’s health, acute/chronic respiratory condition management, abscess incision & drainage, and preventative health. She is passionate about providing healthcare to patients the way she would want her own friends/family to receive care. Marissa focuses on collaborating with patients to ensure that their physical, mental, and emotional needs are provided for at all stages of life.
